
Ibon Pérez is a guitarist, composer, and teacher recognized for his versatility and command of styles ranging from contemporary jazz and manouche, to classical and electronic music.
His journey began at the Murgia School of Music, where he first discovered his passion for improvisation and the rich traditions of jazz. He studied for several years under the guidance of acclaimed guitarist Ricardo Urrutia, before relocating to Barcelona to deepen his musical education at L’Aula de Jazz y Música Moderna. There, he honed his skills under Bartolomeo Barenghi and became a fixture in the local music scene, regularly hosting jam sessions and performing at festivals such as Django LH, Vitoria Jazz Festival, Jardins de Can Sumarro, and the Sitges Jazz Festival.
In 2018, Ibon moved to Belgium to continue his artistic development at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, studying under Fabien Degryse and Peter Hertmans. After graduating in 2021, he quickly established himself in the Belgian jazz circuit, performing at major venues and events including Brussels Jazz Weekend, The Music Village, Sounds, La Ferme du Biéreau, Stuk, and Café De Muze.
Today, he collaborates with a wide range of ensembles that span genres, from traditional combos to modern jazz quartets and genre-blending electronic projects.
He is based between Brussels, Belgium and Vitoria, Spain.
